2011 Varsity Girls Coaches

COACH: ANSLEY SMITH

  
                                    
Coach Ansley Smith was a member of the LHS class of ’97. While attending LHS, Coach Smith was given the honor of being a team captain for the LHS Girls’ Varsity team under the leadership of Coach Carol Goronovich and Coach Margie Bowen. This team had the opportunity to compete in the state tournament and finished as the State Runners-Up in 1997.

Coach Smith started out her coaching career at Eastside High School in Covington, GA as Head JV Girls’ Head Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach. She coached at Eastside for three years and was able to secure a winning season for the girls each year at the JV level.

Coach Smith enjoys all sports, but may be spotted at numerous UGA football and basketball games during the season. Go Dawgs! Coach Smith and her husband Ben, also a former LHS graduate, enjoy trying local Atlanta cuisine and live-music venues. She likes camping and hiking, but really enjoys any activity where she has the opportunity to engage in her one true passion: Traveling.

Coach Smith is very excited about the opportunity to return to her Alma Mater that gave her so many wonderful experiences on and off the field. She coached the Lakeside JV team for the 2009 season.

Stephanie Earnest		  
 
Stephanie Earnest, a Lakeside High School grad, has returned to Lakeside to assist with the girls Varsity team. Soccer experience consist of playing for over 10 years at TYSA, Henderson High School and indoor and out door adult leagues. Stephanie teaches Science at Henderson Middle School. She is married to another Lakeside graduate, Troy Earnest, who assists with the LHS Young Life organization.
KEEPER TRAINER :
Alija Djumisic 		 
  As a former professional soccer player in Bosnia, Ali brings a vast knowledge of the game of soccer to the Lakeside Lady Vikings. His experience and knowledge adds to the depth of the coaching staff. Ali focuses on the goal keepers, and plays a major role in all coaching decisions. His daughter, Anja, is a former Lakeside Varsity player, All State team member, and currently on scholarship at Charleston Southern University. Ali is employed by the Dekalb County School System where he works at Henderson Mill Elementary School.
