Head Coach

Jason Guzzardo

This will be Coach Guzzardo’s first year as the Girls’ Varsity Head Coach at Lakeside High School.  Last season under the veteran guidance of the esteemed Margaret Bowen, Coach Guzzardo assisted the Girls’ Varsity program to an 11-4 season and an appearance in the state Quarterfinals.

Jason Gregory Guzzardo was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Coach Guzzardo is working as an Interrelated Exceptional Education teacher at Lakeside.

Coach Guzzardo has played soccer since the age of 6 and has been on several elite clubs teams as well as playing internationally while in high school. Coach Guzzardo graduated from Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County where he was an all-county two sport athlete in soccer and football.  He went to Valdosta State University as a walk-on kicker for the football team. Coach Guzzardo played football as well as soccer while at Valdosta State.  He graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice/Pre-Law. 

After graduating he pursued his professional career and became a provisionally licensed P.I. in Ohio.  Later, Coach Guzzardo decided to change career objectives in 2006 and moved back to Georgia where he became a substitute teacher and the head J.V. and assistant Varsity girls’ soccer coach at Berkmar High School. 

Coach Guzzardo’s international, collegiate, and high school knowledge of the game of soccer will be expounded throughout the Lady Viking’s play this season.  Coach Guzzardo wants to raise the bar of expectations for the Girls’ soccer program at Lakeside and looks to continue the prestige of the program.

What is F.O.C.U.S.?

Faith- Believing a certain variable will act or has the potential to act a specific way despite the potential influence and probability of known or unknown change. 

Optimism- is an outlook on life such that one maintains a view of the world as a positive place.

Chemistry- is a reaction between people or the spontaneous reaction of people to each other, especially a mutual sense of unity or understanding.

Unique- Being the only one of its kind.

Subsequent- Following in time or order; succeeding.
